Why work with me

My degree in Sports and Exercise Sciences, my master's degree in Sports Medicine, Exercise and Health, as well as my work within elite sport, have all helped me to develop the ways that I train clients. My aim is to support you and help you achieve your goals - figuring out the best way of achieving that is a challenge I enjoy. Your input is crucial, as you are the only one that can feel what is going on, so we'll work together to progress as quickly and safely, as possible.Â

FAQ
Will this actually fix the problem, or is it just managing symptoms?
By using a structured loading protocol as our rehabilitation tool, we are aiming to get adaptations from the actual damaged tissues, to repair and strengthen them, not just give you temporary relief from your pain. We will also work to address factors which may have predisposed you to suffering the injury in the first place, to help avoid re-injury.
Can I avoid surgery by doing this?
Sometimes. The nature and severity of the injury will obviously affect the answer to this, but in many cases even if a complete recovery isn't possible, it may be possible to get you back to a sufficiently good level for you to live a normal life and avoid needing surgery. For example, I have helped get clients with a completely ruptured ACL get back to running, jumping and taking part in sport without having surgery to repair the ligament.Â
How often do I need to attend appointments?
That depends on how much you are willing to do by yourself. If you want, we can do all of our sessions together, and in this case, it will be useful to plan in for 2-3 sessions per week to make the quickest improvements. However, I'm also happy to help guide your progress via an initial check-up - providing you with homework to get on with, and then using follow up sessions with me for re-evaluation - to provide progressions to keep you moving forwards.
